Abstract
Application of the IBM MedSolution hospital information system to the inpatient management.
Between 1990 and 1995 the inpatient management at the various departments of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical University was served separately by 15 locally networked computers. To establish an integrated and comprehensive patient management the architecture of the University computer network was utilized and an IBM AS/400 central server was introduced in 1995. The implementation of IBM MedSolution/400 hospital information system included the translation of the 1.3 New (English) version and its adaptation to the environment of the Hungarian university clinics. This system has been effective in the daily routine of inpatient administration at our University since January 1, 1996.

Abstract
At the University Medical School of Debrecen we started to introduce an integrated health-care and economic informational system which will be able to collect all the information related to patients, students and economic life of the university. This paper contains our objectives, the main steps of this project, the actual state of this process and the problems we encounter during the development of the integrated system.

Abstract
In our university the Informatics was been introduced two years ago as a compulsory subject in first or second semester. The aim of this course is to provide basic knowledge of computer science and to teach usage of the most important application software (word processors, spreadsheet programs and database management systems). This subject consists of two parts: Introduction to the informatics and Library informatics. In this paper we want to give an account of our experiences.

Abstract
In this paper the results and experiences are reported which were gained in the curses organized for medical and PhD students and in the postgraduate courses at Medical School of Debrecen.
The goal of the courses was to go through the main phases of the scientific research from planning of the experiment until to the statistical processing of results. It was tried to find the most adequate mathematical model for processing data and chosen the suitable variant from the available software products for presentation of results.
There was collected a set of the demonstration data and theirs solution.

Abstract
The lecture is given on the issue of Medical Informatics training at Széchenyi College, Gyõr, including the following aspects:
- Medical Informatics as an independent field of study
- The tendencies of development concerning Medical Informatics
- Medical Informatics as an applicable method and its current areas of use
- Training requirements based on the recommendations of The Ministers' Committee of The Council
of Europe
- The development of the study program based on the dilemma of the 'what and how to teach'
principle and the issue of know-how delivered to students
- According to specialists this type of training will lead to highly qualified professionals in the field of
medical informatics who are througly acquainted with the structure of health care

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) tests in teaching of the medical physiology
MCQ tests are well applicable for computer procession and evaluation. At our department we use a system for preparing, practicing and evaluating tests on IBM-compatible machines, using home or network resources, sparing time for the stuff..At first, we had to prepare a test-pool. There were problems regarding format, editing, inspecting, inserting, deleting, btw. We have to give an opportunity for the students to practice the tests on the university-network during the semester, we also had to support home-working. Because of the limited number of available computers in order to be able to examine a large number of students at the same time, we had to print the test sheets on paper and evaluate the results by means of computer. We can use our system at the MTWs (Multiple Test Written), the end-semester exams, and at the final exams. It makes the work easier, faster and more clearly.
