Abstract
A new regulation of the entrance system has come into force in 1995 in the Hungarian higher education. The government edict allows the student to take more than one entrance examination into more than one institution, but after successful exams the admission can be taken only into one institution. To manage this process a new computer software was developed. In this paper we offer a brief survey of the circumstances of this development that was taken in the Computer Centre of the Budapest University of Economic Sciences. This is the greatest computer based project has ever done in the field of higher education.

Abstract
The quality management of the education system in the higher education is based on the interpretation of the supplier and customers. The education as a whole can be interpreted as a production system producing well-educated people so the supplier is the university and the custumer is the employer. On the other hand, the teaching-learning process can be regarded as a service system, in which the supplier is the teacher and the customer is the student. The management of the total quality system is based on the mission statement and the quality policy of the university.
In the University of Veszprém an information system for the quality assurance of education has been carried out on the basis of ORACLE CASE technology.

The Costs and Yields of Infrastructural Developments
The author examines the causes of the distortions in the informatics infrastaructural development of the Hungarian university education. In consideration of costs and yields, it is shown that these are recorded and assessed in different places. The author finds the paternalistic way of financing as one of the causes of the distortion. The other cause is the difference of the interest of purchasers and end-users and also the lack of regular consultation.
