Abstract
The National Information Infrastructure Development Program (NIIF = Nemzeti Információs Infrastruktúra Fejlesztési Program) is responsible for the backbone of the non-profit educational and research network (Hbone) in Hungary. Besides the general maintenance and management issues the NIIFP is also involved in the initiative and management of Internet user projects in the most actual fields of development. The foundation of an electronic text-archive of documents of Hungarian origin or interest (MEK = Magyar Elektronikus Könyvtár, Hungarian Electronic Library), the endeavours to create a common interface for different electronic library catalogues to provide a common WWW access to them (KözElKat = Common Electronic Catalogue) have been the first results. The NIIFP also pays attention to the user education, this goal was served by the more than 10 brochures which were published in the series of "NIIF Információs Füzetek".

Abstract
Personal computers have been recently used in most of secondary schools in Hungary and many schools have an access to electronic mail. Informatics teachers and teachers using computers as a tool have to cope with establishing the conditions of teaching (purchasing instruments, continuous self-education, etc.). Communication among teachers fighting similar problems is most important. To make this communication easier, the mailing list tanforum for teachers has been established. Access to the services of Internet has been opened for students in some secondary schools during the schoolyear 1995/96. We report on experiences of the mailing list and of the use of Internet by students.

Abstract
The MBone is an experimental virtual subnet of the Internet, for the utilization of multicast IP traffic. Multicast is especially suitable for broadcasting data at a high rate to a large number of hosts on the network. Multicast avoids the multiplication of data traffic when sending the same data to several closely situated hosts. Videoconference is the primary application of the MBone. The MBONE videoconference toolkit contains tools for transmitting audio, video, a shared workspace manager, and a session directory which solves the announcement and organization of videoconference events on the MBone. In this paper these tools are described together with our experiences during the broadcast of the JENC7 conference.
