IT security in the e-government framework project

The e-government framework project (EK3) was initiated by the Prime Minister?s Office and lead by the Centre of information Technology, Budapest University of Technology and Economics. A major goal of the project was to create and IT security framework for future e-government development projects.

During the EK3 project the foundations for the Hungarian e-government framework have been laid. Recommendations for process description, application framework, interoperability requirements, IT security requirements, audit have been produced and a pilot implementation was made.

It is imperative, that e-government projects deal with IT security with high importance. The sample regulations and procedures created during the project enable the designers, developers and users to create and check IT security requirements.

This presentation introduces the EK3 project, and details the methodology used and the results achieved.
