The main topic of the presentation is to introduce the Hungrid Virtual Organization (VO). This VO is based on the middleware developed by the EGEE project of the European Union. The Hungrid VO is the first 24/7 Grid service in Hungary. Not only is it possible to run sequential and parallel programs but files/programs can also be stored and registered.

The Hungrid Virtual Organization is launched by Hungarian academic institutes. It allows the Grid infrastructure developed and maintained by the EGEE projects to be also used by the national research community also for research issues different from those in other VOs. The Hungrid VO joins the Grid resources of many Hungarian institutes (KFKI Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics, BME, ELTE, NIIF). The VO is available for those Hungarian research communities, which need high computing and/or storage capacity, or just want to try the possibilities given by the Grids. The Hungrid VO is progressing at the moment too, the steps and rules of usage are being specified, and the available resources are being improved as well. At its current state everyone, who works in the Hungarian academic sphere and reasonably needs the Grid, is allowed to use it.

The presentation demonstrates through a short example the steps of the usage and requirements of the Hungrid VO, then briefly reviews the hardware/software background used in the VO, and presents the experiences of the maintenance.
