The Catalyst 6500 platform is one of the most popular backbone devices in the network of HBONE members. This platform was introduced more than 10 years ago by Cisco Systems, and nowadays it reaches the limitation of the platform regarding to performance and features. The Nexus 7000 is the successor of the current Catalyst 6500 platform in certain respects. The presentation will highlight the similarities and differences between the two platforms.
