NEKTÁR and OSZKDK - changing interface, new web2 and web3 based services

1. The frequent users of the online catalog (NEKTÁR http://nektar.oszk.hu), and digital library (OSZKDK http://oszkdk.oszk.hu) of the National Széchényi Library could realize some improvements by the user interface of these sites. The reason of the modifications was the urgent need of the integration of our newly developed tools and services. The following new catalog elements maybe interesting also for the general public:
- Loading the e-book on-demand service into the catalogs.
- Publisher?s data?s availability.
- Google Books covers: By clicking into the cover, you can get the services of Google Books.
- Using Permalinks that enable the availability of the documents without logging in to the catalogue.
- Zotero compatibility that enables collecting, handling and referencing of the researching resources (by the first time as integration into web catalogs in Hungary!)
- We developed many tools for easy searching and integration into external applications: Widgets, Fast Searching Toolbar and Open Search- these tools take the opportunity to integrate the catalog services into a browser toolbar, or into external library websites and weblogs (blogs).
2. The National Széchényi Library would like to publish its catalogues on the semantic web too!
Our lecture is summarizing the above mentioned services and analyzes the programming methods we used by the development and integration of the new tools.
