One of the biggest values of companies and institutions is the information, but the cost of information retrieval and selection is too high. There was a need to create a special system, which should be a solution for numerous information management problems, which simplifies the information workers work, and performs such other functions which had been done by human resources before. Then the ADVISE was implemented.
Advise is an information management tool that integrates all the tasks related to corporate information management into a single front-end solution. It allows one to search throughout the entire file databases in full content of internal and external databases and also in public and paid sources, respectively. This does not make it unique, so far, but let’s go on. The system finds the searched information, then integrates and displays them in a single surface. Thanks to its self-learning semantic conceptual network, the Advise can find all the relevant data. However, thanks to its search strategy it does not parlay the searcher with meaningless information.
Advise does not treat its users only individually, but it can group them using the corporate address lists and the data describing the group. For example, it knows who are the people who belong to a given business unit, project or scope of activities. We can even make groups of people who share the same interests. This is what leads the automatic learning ability of Advise, since the relations between the concepts that a user teaches can be used later by another user, too.
The Advise supports the thesaurus dictionaries, thus makes it possible to scan the external thesaurus dictionaries through a protocol (Dublin Core, XML, HUNMARC).
The system makes statistics too. With this function, there is the possibility to view statements about documents, searches, etc. For example:
- what are the most popular topics,
- most frequently downloaded documents,
- the most useful/useless documents according to users,
- never used documents.
Another individual function of Advise is the newsletter-maker. The system automatically generates newsletters and summarizing documents based on given keywords and concepts (network of concepts), topics and frequency. By means of these it can make newsletters in any topic ranging from the daily press news through the advances in industry to the official statements of competing leaders. When the newsletter is ready, an e-mail is sent which includes the link of the newsletter. The program is able to create internal, own newsletters for the workers about the company’s development, events.
Moreover, the system makes cohesive data contained tables, collected from different sources of the web – for example the product prices of competitors, list of conditions, etc.

The Advise improves efficiency, it is human centered, has an adaptive logic, and it is easy to use. At the same time – and besides, it is a tested, system, with many practical functions, and it is introduced to several companies. We offer the presentation for those who are interested in a system that makes the everyday work easier, and helps to retrieve information from many systems.
