The Hungarian Article Archive will be created similarly to the Hungarian Digital Image Library as a collaboration of Hungarian libraries. The consortium to be set up will organize this cooperation. The article archive will be run by the Library of the University of Miskolc on a server obtained via European Union funding (project TIOP 1.2.3 Tudásdepó Expressz) and with software developed also as part of a running European Union project (TAMOP 3.2.4 Tudásdepó Expressz). The archive will be filled up by the libraries that make up the consortium as well as guest users, all of whom already possess digitized articles and other related documents. The programming and coding work is in full swing already, in the next phase the digitized articles of the National Széchényi Library will be uploaded first. The software is expected to handle great quantities of digital documents containing texts (articles) and also the connected metadata. Besides pure software development, a framework for the collaboration in the consortium has to be worked out as well, including a closer cooperation between the three big Hungarian journal databases (EPA-HUMANUS-MATARKA) in the future.
