While the revitalization and full remodeling of the main or Líceum building of the Eszterházy Károly College began two years ago, due to the fact that the 230 year old building earned architectural monument status preparatory steps had already been made in 2007. The elaboration and implementation of a modern information and communication technology network and the respective infrastructure environment meeting the requirements of the 21st century posed a considerable challenge.

The revitalization project impacts not only the external appearance and the originally established internal facilities, but the basement level as well. The renovated basement will include computer laboratories, the studio of the Liceum Television, along with a server centre. At the same time, the Liceum building houses the current information technology infrastructure entailing the server room, the network spine, and incoming lines whose operation must not be interrupted in order to assure the continuous functioning of the College including that of the various offices and departmental facilities that moved to new locations within the very building, which are in need of IT services as well.

The information technology aspects of this unprecedented renovation effort entailing coping with such obstacles as especially thick building walls screening or blocking the reception of wi-fi signals, and convoluted labyrinth-like track lines will result in servers located in unique arched halls, computer laboratories with exclusively designed cooling systems along with the instalment of the latest storage and blade servers.
