In the age of laptops, smart phones and the iPad, public libraries are provided with immensely useful online communication tools to achieve more effective and
efficient communication with the public.

The presentation aims to illustrate it by a few examples, how the Széchényi National Library attempts to face these challenges, use these opportunities
through by employing a wide range of online communication tools in its communication processes – by keeping a blog and a so-called 'micro-blog', by
sharing digital images, audio and video content online, and by distributing other types of digital information online. By monitoring users' online presence
and analysing their online behaviour, the Széchényi National Library aims to adjust, to improve its services and to raise its profile.
