NG DWDM; DWDM system deployed in HBONE+ project

In frame of HBONE+ project a new generation DWDM system had been deployed using Alcatel-Lucent's "Zero Touch Photonics" concept and 1830PSS devices. Majority of new generation solutions had been introduced like e.g. ROADMs make the backbone of the system offering flexible re-configuration capabilities. These devices are able to handle multiple directions thus the options given by the meshed topology deployed can be really used e.g. for rerouting purposes. Also thanks to this all of the services could be realized without interim regeneration (w/o oeo).
Some of the services had been realized by 40Gb/s (4x10G) channels and in the frame of the project a couple of months 100Gb/s test is scheduled.
Currently the system carries the INET services provided by NIIFI and makes the interconnections between the super computers.
