The previous year we spoke about the research on finding translations of a given text done at the Distributed Systems Department of MTA SZTAKI. This year we would like to introduce the completed system, which has been integrated into Hungary's most famous plagiarism search portal, KOPI. (http://kopi.sztaki.hu/).

As it is demonstrated by many national and international cases, plagiarism when detected late can have a catastrophic impact not only on a person’s career but also on the reputation of a whole institution. Our goal was to prevent this when we – first in the world – added an algorithm that is capable to detect translated passages to our plagiarism search engine.

Our system is capable of comparing English, Hungarian or German texts to the Hungarian and English Wikipedia, and recognizing similarities or translations between the text of the uploaded document and the Wikipedia. We are constantly improving the system by adding new languages and contents, the French and German Wikipedia, for example, will be soon part of it, hereby enabling the widespread use of KOPI.

In the presentation we demonstrate not only our test results but also our system, and we urge every professor to test and use it.
