What are some of the competences, skills, and aptitudes IT experts need to possess today?  Is there a demand in Hungary for such a special IT training scheme?

While in Hungary the information and communication technology sector is not given a priority it prefers, there is a substantial need for experts equipped with ICT competences and high level professional skills.

My presentation provides a comparison of current informatics training schemes and the elements of IT training programs scheduled to be introduced at the Eszterházy Károly College. The primary aim of information technology education is the training of information experts familiar with the following professional fields:

Consequently, graduates of said program will be capable of meeting the informatics and IT demands of the labour market, along with fulfilling IT related tasks both in the business and the public sphere.

While an option to earn an Information Technology MA degree already exists at the Eszterházy Károly College, this program is primarily designed and arranged by Open University Malaysia and delivered by Eszterházy  Károly College. The OUM-EKC Learning Centre of the College  is responsible for the coordination of the academic aspects of said program. All aspects of the four semester Information Technology MA program including teaching and monitoring student knowledge via examinations take place in Hungary through a distance learning format providing personal consultations and in person examination options in all related subjects.

The Eszterházy Károly College aims to provide Information Technology training in Hungarian language as well. Consequently, partly financed by various grants the curriculum adaptation process has begun. The process is expected to be concluded with the accreditation of the given MA program.

My presentation provides an overview of the professional pre-implementation efforts of the Hungarian language Information Technology MA program at the Eszterházy Károly College.
