The overall goal of our 2008-2013 national library development strategy is – among other things – to develop the reading, information search and digital skills by supporting formal education, as well as non-formal and informal learning.

Library user training is an essential tool in achieving this goal, which facilitates the process of lifelong learning by preparing users how to locate and properly use credible sources of information necessary for knowledge acquisition.

In recent years, a number of domestic libraries have been using EU funds to improve their user training programs and applied advanced information communication technologies and online tools to allow/support online forms of education available outside of the walls of the library.

The lecture looks at online library user training tools and techniques and presents some examples of their domestic use.
