The audit of HunTéka in museums  - expectations of a modern museum system

The current legislation about the registration of museum institutions (Regulation NKÖM 20/2002. (X.4) of the Minister of National Cultural Heritage) authorises any collection management system for use by museums.

A system, however, can only by officially approved („audited”), if it goes through a strictly regulated process meeting a lot of professional and administrative demands. The process regulates both the workings of the technological system and the museum's normal workings in detail.

The accreditation takes years to prepare. The systems must be prepared for the regulations of computerized record-keeping, all regulations and rules of procedure enforcing the above regulations msut be put in place, and the standard registration forms must be standard-conformant as well.

As a result of this complicated process we successfully passed the audit with a technologically modern, highly regulated integrated museum system in the Petofi Museum of Literature.
