The different types of contents of internet are available without any kind of filtering to anyone who can use a browser. Nowadays, internet browsers can be handled by the youngest generation at age of 5-6 years. That’s why, it is a question on behalf of parents, educators, psychologists, sociologists whether it is good to provide access for children to unfiltered contents or not.
Based on these needs some regulations have been changed: e.g. adult contents must have been moved under „.xxx” top-level domain. Unfortunately, such XXX-contents can be seen still on videoshare sites (e.g. YouTube), but also other topics (such as violence) should be restricted to children. It seems that the pre-set and applied “black list” rules (that analyze e.g. images, Facebook chat windows texts) of professional parental control applications are not enough. Beyond these functionalities the supported language is also a crucial point of good performance. Instead of using Anglo-Saxon “black list” model Prussian-Russian “white list” should be used. An analogy with this: at TV watching the children can get thematic channels that are managed and filtered centrally (such as Minimax, Megamax), but it is not enough to put some kind of warning (age of 12 in red circle) onto the screen of a general channel, because restrictions are not really enforced. This analogy lead us to design and implement such Hungarian content filtering system that is based on centrally managed “white lists” which are constructed by a WEB2 community of experts from different areas.
