Developments of IT Infrastructure at University of Pécs

Infrastructure improvements of University and its predcessors have a 20-year track record.
The first large amount of computer acquisitions happened at early 90’s. Few years after we started to build first LAN’s, and the first WAN segments betweeen buildings. After quantitative developments of early years we focused to quality of infrastructure and to keep it up to date.
Meanwhile the internal operation of the University is relying more and more on IT solutions, therefore the reliability, and the conditions of infrastructure operation and support have more importance.
My presentation describes the status of our IT infrastructure, the vision of the future, based on historical evolution, including changes of organizational stucture and financial conditions.
