Digital literacy is inevitably one of the most important competences in the information society. The 21st century skills system, whose elements also involve digital literacy and information litercy, is charaterised by a continuous change as in our modern world essential skills, abilities and competencies are also continuously changing and being restructured. Consequently the relation of these competencies is not obvious, in which structure the place and role of digital literacy as well as information have often changed. At the same time the relation between digital literacy and information literacy is considered especially interesting because these terms have been changing continuously and in each country in different ways since the millenium. The lecture is to present the definition of digital literacy, the definition of information litearcy related to different nations as well as the Hungarian practice of using terminologies. Before defining the development opportunities it is indispensable to clarify the theoretical issues of competences as well.
