Corvinus Research (the institutional repository of Corvinus University of Budapest) was launched in 2011 and now contains around 1200 publications. Both the library and the university community expects us to be able to deliver exact information on the usage of the repository.

First we used Google Analytics in order to get the appropriate usage data. After October 2012 we could measure the number of downloads, too, with the asynchronous tracking code.

In the course of time we connected the repository to more and more scientific aggregators and search engines. The main shortcoming of Google Analytics is that it measures the file downloadings only if it is initiated on the the exact page of the title within the repository. Because of this, we decided to use the Irstat statistical software package, which is dedicated to providing usage and downloading statistics of repositories running on EPrints and DSpace softwares. From June 2013 with the help of Irstat we can measure the remotely initiated file downloads as well.

The presentation will describe the differences between the two statistical softwares and it will present the advantages of Irstat with frequently used indicators and output tables.
