The Computer Centre at University of Szeged (USz CC) provides WiFi services for all students, employees and lecturers who are registered with active status in the ETR academic administration IT system. In addition, guest and conference users have also access. These services are available in the academic buildings and at public areas as well.

We have developed a centrally managed system from HP products. During the system sizing, both the present and the predictable future demands were taken into account. In addition to the functionalities of the HP management software, USz CC elaborated an authorization system and SCI-Network developed a custom software in order to support specialized user services as e.g. eduroam, local switching and guest management.

Purchasing was preceded by a long planning process. The project lasted from 2007 until 2012 and it was funded by the Social Infrastructure Operational Programme (SIOP) of the Hungarian government and EU. The design of user and authorization management was carried out during the period between the purchasing and the introduction. We began to introduce the services in October, 2013, and we finished it recently.

In part II of our presentation, we outline the AAA implementation, the user and system management, and the operating experiences of the past three-quarter year.
