The diplomat Alexander Apponyi dedicated his life to the collection of Hungarian-related books printed abroad. His little bibliophile library called Collection Rariora reflect his interest and style. The cataloguing in the integrated library system of the National Széchényi Library of the Rariora collection will be concluded soon.
My aim is to present the collection and the next stop of service of the library. The digitization and the publication of early printed books are the devices of familiarization and preservation. We can use this opportunity increasingly. The books of Old Hungarian Library guarded in the Collection of Early Books can be reached with metadata from every point of the world. This sphere could be broadened with other digitized early printed books from other collections we could supply. As the project RPHA prove we can build upon this basic supply. My ultimate goal is to present how to reach the digital early printed books and to show how the narrative can be served by technology.
