Overview of OpenStack Networking Architecture

This session provides an introduction to OpenStack, an open-source cloud management platform providing Infrastructure-As-A-Service (IaaS) services. The topics include a review of OpenStack general architecture, the main components and the connections of these components.
The presentation discuss in detail the network architecture of Openstack based on the Neutron module; the different roles of the components and the used networking technologies. The lecture gives insight of the operation of Linux networking services used by OpenStack under the hood and follows the life of a packet in OpenStack network architecture.
Finally the session demonstrates the enhancements and additional values a Cisco-based datacenter architecture can provide to OpenStack.
