Informatics in Higher Education '96 national conference

On the last day of the Conference on Informatics in Higher Education held in 1993 the organizing committee raised the question of organizing a higher educational meeting on informatics on a wider range of subjects every two or three years.

Owing to the success of the previous conference and recent changes as well as upon the needs of the public opinion of professionals, organizers from Debrecen took the pleasure of the active participation in the organization and arrangements of the next conference supported by Informatics Association of Hungarian Higher Education and National Informational Infrastructure Development Program with a variety of professional and organizational help.

Developing informatics society, program of modernization, initiation of national informatics strategy as well as the improvement of national informational infrastructure are all considered noble and, regarding world`s development, useful and necessary initiations and programs in which the educational, research and development activities of higher education play an important role.

Networkshop '96 NIIF conference

After being organized under the auspices of the National Informational Infrastructure Development Program four times the more and more successful Networkshop conference is to be held parallelly with the Conference on the Informatics in Higher Education in 1996.

Networkshop is traditionally organized together with an institute of higher education in the country. This year we were motivated to organize a parallel conference by two reasons. NIIFP will take an active part in the organization of the 7th JENC (Joint European Networking Conference) in the spring of 1996, so the usual period of the confeerence does not seem reasonable. On the other hand, the institutes of higher education make use of network services to a great extent and they have always taken a great part in organization in the Networkshop sessions.
